-May 23: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex presents the “27th Annual Battle of the Hors D’oeuvres” at St. Clair College Centre for the Arts, doors open at 6 p.m. Experience 15 of Windsor’s finest food and beverage establishments all under one roof! Tickets are only $80 per person or 10 for $750.

"Say Yes To The Dress Event"! Free Prom Dresses At New Beginnings, April 13, 2013 Only!


With the arrival of spring we cannot wait to dress to impress and the New Beginnings Say Yes to the Dress event is here to help! For one day only girls will be able to browse a huge selection of formal and graduation dresses ranging in size from 0-26 that they can wear to their special spring event.

The Say Yes to the Dress event will take place at New Beginnings, 1015 Highland Ave. Windsor, on April 13th from 1-5pm. It is FREE and open to the public… don’t worry fitting rooms are available to ensure it’s a perfect fit!

Since its inception 4 years ago the Say Yes to the Dress event has helped over 380 young women find the dress of their dreams. All dresses are either new or gently used and are donated by local retailers and individuals. New Beginnings Essex County opened its doors in 1971 and has provided youth with a structured rehabilitation program of residential services, counseling, support, supervision and aftercare. SARAH GIRTY’S WAR BY THE CROSSTOWN PLAYERS: APRIL 11 TO 16, 2013


THE CROSSTOWN PLAYERS THEATRE, INC., PRESENTS SARAH GIRTY’S WAR, AN ORIGINAL THEATRE PRODUCTION THAT COMMEMORATES THE WAR OF 1812 BICENTENNIAL. ADMISSION IS FREE BUT THE TROUPE WILL PASS THE HAT--PROCEEDS FOR THE TROUPE’S NEW HOME IN OLD SANDWICH TOWNE. THE TROUPE ALSO ASKS FOR NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS TO RESTOCK THE NEIGHBOURHOOD FOOD BANK.

 
Players Theatre will present SARAH GIRTY’S WAR, an original two-act, 90-minute drama written and directed by Windsor playwright James. C. Mays. The play is one of four in the troupe’s Heritage Series that commemorates the Bicentennial of the War of 1812. The show stars Angelo Ciardella, Matthew Freake and Roberta Hunter.

 
Cash donations will go toward the troupe’s new home in Olde Sandwich Towne. Additionally, folks are asked to bring non-perishable food items to restock the neighbourhood food bank.

 Time: Dining room opens at 7 pm for those who wish to make it dinner and theatre. Shows start at 8 pm.

Important: Admission is free but the troupe will pass the hat to raise money for their new home. They ask everyone to bring non-perishable food items to restock the neighbourhood food bank. The shows are reservation only as seating capacity is limited.
