The Leamington Arts Centre Presents “Heinz Ketchup to Art Show - Call for Submissions”

 

The Heinz Ketchup to Art Show exhibition will run from August 6th through August 31st. The exhibition is open to all amateur and professional artists in 2D and 3D and in any medium. Deadline to submit is August 4th, 4pm.

The Heinz Ketchup to Art Show’s focus is to celebrate the proud heritage and culture of the great town of Leamington as the tomato capital of Canada. This exhibition combines two vital parts of our region, agriculture and the arts. Grown with creativity and uniqueness, in this exhibition and community event, ketchup becomes a work of art!

 

This exhibition is open to all amateur and professional visual artists. All mediums accepted in 2D and 3D (painting, photography, sculpture, textile, installations, etc.) A maximum of 4 entries per artists. All artwork MUST be in the theme of Heinz, Tomatoes or Ketchup.

 

$600 in CASH PRIZES, plus Heinz swag prizes too!

The Leamington Arts Centre (LAC) is located in the heart of South Western Ontario’s beautiful uptown Leamington in one of the town’s many wonderful heritage buildings. The LAC is a state of the gallery which offers two large art galleries, a Heinz museum, Erie Quest Heritage Ship Wreck museum as well as a gift shop, art classes, workshops and meeting spaces. The LAC is one of the area’s paramount places to view modern art with an emphasis on local and aspiring artists and artisans.

 

The LAC is governed by South Essex Arts Association, a not for profit charitable organization dedicated to creating and sustaining a celebration of the human spirit through the nurturing of the arts within our community.

Kingsville BIA Concerts July & August 2013



‘NOT QUITE CARNEGIE’ SUMMER CONCERT SERIES


Presented by Kingsville BIA



Free outdoor summer concert series for all ages is being held on the lawn beside the Carnegie Arts & Visitor Centre, 28 Division St., S., Kingsville,  on each Wednesday evening throughout July and August at 7:00 p.m.  In case of rain the Epworth United Church Hall will host the event.

Bring your lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy the evening with friends and neighbours.

The concerts are free but the “hat” is passed for donations, which helps to pay for the performers.  Tax receipts are available for donations exceeding $20.
