Sign Up for the first “Law Enforcement Torch Ride” Sept. 7, 2014



- Sept. 7: The Essex County OPP presents the inaugural Law Enforcement Torch Ride for Special Olympics Ontario. The ride starts from the Knights of Columbus in Emeryville (1303 County Road 22) beginning at 10 a.m., with registration starting at 8 a.m.


The motorcycle ride (leaves at 10:30 am sharp) takes riders along the shoreline of Essex County to raise funds in support of Special Olympics Ontario. A pasta luncheon at noon takes place for general public with fun for the whole family ($15 and kids under 5 can eat for free).


Register online at TorchRideOntario.com. The $30 registration fee is waived if riders raise $150 or more. Registration includes a free pasta lunch. Passengers $20.

Family Fun Day August 9, 2014 at Pridefest




Presented by UNIFOR Local 444 and UNIFOR Local 200, the Windsor-Essex Pride Fest will host the 3rd annual “Family Fun Day” as part of its four day annual festival in August.

The FREE event will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 from noon until 5 pm, at Riverfront Festival Plaza.

The Riverfront Festival Plaza will be transformed into a great big playground with food, entertainment and lots of family fun. This family-friendly event will feature stage performances by Perry Noia The Clown, Bill Nuvo magic show and balloons by Jangles The Clown.

Other entertainment includes a Kids Zone play area featuring inflatable bouncy castle, inflatable obstacle course. Other features include face painting, balloon animals and more. FREE ADMISSION.
