Children's Arts Festival, Sunday Oct. 25, 2015 at Bloomin Gardener

A new children’s festival is being planned and promoted by: the Windsor International Writers Conference; the Windsor Centre for Film, Digital Media & the Creative Arts; Olde Walkerville Theatre; the Film Camp for Kids & Youth; and the Arts Culture Collective (ACT).  These groups have joined forces to put on an exciting interactive event that is affordable and open to the public - $10 for adults and $5 for children; a family of four or more $25.

The Children’s Arts Festival: Choose Your Own Adventure takes place Sunday, October 25th from 11AM to 5PM at the Bloomin' Gardener, 6673 8th Concession in Old Castle.  Children and youth of all ages will explore and experience the arts in this unique garden and holiday harvest setting. The festival is an indoor event, and the Bloomin’ Gardener will also have plenty for the parents to see and enjoy.  There are no worries about inclement weather!

“All of us need the arts,” says Pam Goldstein, chairman of the event. “Especially children. In this world of so much darkness and fear, children need the joy of creativity. With the Arts they get to express themselves. They learn to invent, experiment and make mistakes. The arts allows them to grow, take risks and have fun.”

Some of the Program Highlights include: Town Criers - Peter Hrastovec & Taras Natyshak; Diplomats Drum Corps; Amherstburg Bell Choir; Music by Ben Goldstein; Painting by Lorraine Steele and Anne Nantais; Jewellery making by Greg Deherte; the Essex Medieval Heritage Society Archery and Village Display; Creating a Garden by Klinck's Farms; Lakeshore Academy of Fine Arts; Magic by Bill Nuvo; The WI-WC Young Authors Group – Stories; Juniper and PB bookstores with storytelling times; Book Characters; Cooking by the Twisted Apron; Singing; Wand Lessons; Green Screen Costume Photos by the Film Camp for Kids & Youth; Photography by Joe Symchyshyn; the Stilt Guys.
